Our retreat is on Doe Branch Road in Marshall, North Carolina with additional accommodations within easy walking distance. The property is located in one of the most scenic areas of Madison County bordering Pisgah National Forest.  Part of an historic homestead of nearly 125 acres, the property includes walking trails and many beautiful spots for reflection in shady rhododendron forests or along spring fed streams that flow into the French Broad River, a protected national scenic waterway and a haven for whitewater rafters and kayakers. Just six miles off the main highway, the setting is a hundred years removed from the daily stresses of city life.

Our participants have come from near and far:  Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, North Carolina,  South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia and Washington, DC — and Qatar!.   The area is close to major interstate highways I-40 and I-26, and there is airline service to Asheville, with rental cars available.  Neighbors have also used the airports in Spartanburg, SC and the Tri-City Airport in Tennessee (serving Johnson City, among others).

We have also compiled some links to help you understand the many resources of Madison County.
